Getting it!

So… Yay! I’m kinda getting it! Kori (the trainer) has been awesome! She is doing the apartments because they take the longest and are not hard to run… She told me to learn the houses first. I’m a little worried about Sunday, but think I’m kinda on board with this crazy thing…

To repeat, this is an attempt to kind of do the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace kind of thing, pay off debt faster, as well as social experiment.  I know a lot of people who have said certain types of work is “beneath them…”  I have my MBA and I do Project Management for ADP, one of the largest companies in the world.  I get paid pretty well for what I do – and this is NOT beneath me…  It’s honest work for an honest paycheck.  I have better skills and more knowledge than what it would take to do a good job, but I don’t find any work beneath me.

So part of this is a social experiment.  I want to show people that no matter your education level, your social status, your income level or whatever, if you want to change your life, nothing should be beneath you.  You work, you get paid, you use that money to change what you don’t like about your current situation.

I’m surprised, I’ve actually got quite a few posts, messages, and texts from friends telling me this is a stupid idea, or kind of making fun of this idea…  90% of these people are in debt…  This is not where I start to mention that I am better than they are or push anything in anyone’s face (the poking fun is on a very friendly level) that while they are laughing, I’ll be in a better financial situation.  First – I have no idea how long this will last.  My goal is 1 year…  Or until we are out of debt…  But who knows, I could do this for 10 years, and still be in debt, so no sour grapes here – just here we go!  I’m setting up my contract this week 🙂
